46 DAYS OF TRAVELLING
I started the adventure renting a car for 18th days of road trip from Brisbane to Cairns, than I stayed in Cairns a bit worked there and travelling around till Cape Tribulation. Than I flight to Darwin and with the bus I went to Alice spring where I’ve rented a car till Ayers Rock and from there I flew to Sydney.

I decided to visit all Queensland which I think is one of the best part of Australia, at the beginning I thought to go around asking lift making tour and that’s it but then I understand that is impossible because a lot of things you can’t do anymore due to the virus as well so I decided to rent a car for the first time of my life I choose the cheapest company East Coast rental and one of the most famous. So I rent it for 18 days which I hope that’s the best time to do all the things that I wanna do, and sleep in the car in each rest area that I will found thanks to the CamperMate app. So that was the beginning planning to arrived in Cairns and I booked everything step by step and also the rest of the trip.

The first stop was at the Desert park which I could get in with the student card, it was interesting definitely different from all the others Zoo/Sanctuary where I’ve been but probably not the best. After that I went to Ochre Pits which it was okay but nothing special, and than I continued to drive till the Mount Sonder Lookout which I passed there the day before but only for few minutes before founding the camping. After this little I started to drove a lot because it was a long day many km, but beautiful experience. I’ve tried to visit Redbank Gorge which it was way to hard for me because you need to do a walk of few hours and I didn’t have that time to spent there so I just went to the lookout and than I keep driving till the Tylers Pass Lookout which I did a quick stop there and than I keep driving till Hermannsburg which I supposed to do a quick lunch break there and gasoline and later visit Palm Valley and Finke Gorge National Park. But the plan change because since I’ve started to drive to Hermannsburg I could have seen that was surrendered by aboriginal people and everyone old / ruined looks like Brazil, one I did gasoline everyone was looking at me pretty bad and I felt the only foreign one after the petrol station I stoped at Hermannsburg Historic Precinct which unfortunately it was closed so I had a walk around and I drove around as well but was really possible take photos but I’ve tried to do it anyway than I stoped in the mai supermarket and I left even if I would stayed longer. I’ve started to drove in the Red Centre Way which it was really different I mean there wasn’t even the asphalt on the road definitely wild with wild horses and wild camels and amazing experience and at the end of the road I arrive at the Kings Canyon Resort which it was possible camping so I’ve done it and before the sun goes down I’ve seen a beautiful sunset with the Kings Canyon.

On the way to Yulara I stopped in different places first for a drink in Kings Creek Station for a cold drink because was the first day really sunny, later I stoped for the lunch at Mount Conner Lookout really nice view but still again too many flies was impossible. Once I get there I went to the Ayers Rock Camground for the check in but once I get they inform me about the price and it was too expensive so I diced to sleep in the car at the carpark of the Ayers Rock Resort. It was very hot the Camel tour started at 5:30 pm so I went around Yulara a bit before, I bought something to eat at the supermarket but then it was really to hot I just wanted to go to the swimming pool to refresh myself a little bit so I enter illegally at the Ayes Rock Resort and I stayed a bit in swimming pool to refresh myself and take few photos. Road trip Australia 2021( VIC+QLD+WA+SA )
27 DAYS OF TRAVELLING
Everything happened earlier then what I planned due to the Covid lockdown happened in Melbourne, first I tried to escape in Adelaide then I went to Brisbane and Gold Coast for few days and then I went to visit my friend in Perth and then I visit Adelaide and I drove back to Melbourne passing by the Great Ocean Road.

( Rottnest Island, Wester Australia )
Well it didn’t really start as a road trip, well I was planning it of course but few weeks later probably. On the 12th of February precisely a year that I left Italy I receive a message from my boss in the noon that thee Club was closing at mid night and was staying close for at least the next five days due to new COVID-19 cases in the city. I freak out totally because it already happened to me once when I arrived in Sydney and I decided to stay but then to leave I had to do the quarantine so this time I wanna do the things differently. So I immediately pack all my things and I wanted to go to Perth but of course WA was the first state close the border for VIC and then I wanted to go to Canberra but I couldn’t buy the ticket and was very expensive even if the boss of the club there told that I could go there without any problem the same night but was impossible for me buy the flight ticket so I just order Uber and in the car I bought the ticket to Adelaide. And after I planned the road trip step by step because I didn’t know what I could and what I could’t do as usual due to the virus because at that time there were few hotspots around.
DAY 1 – Friday 12.02.21
( Night at: Stamford Plaza, Adelaide )

( Stamford plaza room 527, Adelaide )
On the 12th of February precisely a year that I left Italy I woke up in Melbourne at the Hostel Village where I was living, lazy to go to work in the evening. Actually a bit sick as well maybe with a bit of fewer, I canceled the appointment at the laser clinic because I wasn’t feeling well. I come back to sleep and at 2 pm I woke up I found a message from my manger that told me that the club was closed till Thursday due to the new Covid cases in the city so I panicked as usual and from the previous time I’ve learn on my skin that I don’t have to wait, because in Sydney I wanted to spend there the new year so I stayed there and then I cost me the quarantine in Melbourne once I arrived there. So I didn’t want to do the same and I wanted to keep travelling and working since my visa is almost expired. Then I talked with the guy at the reception I could leave most of my thing there so I did and I just put few random things in my big yellow luggage that has to be under 30 kg. I thought to go to Canberra but I couldn’t book the flight and I was already 4 pm so I decided to go to the airport and book a flight from there. So I started calling a Uber, invece I get in the car the driver asked me which terminal and I didn’t know which one, because the Tullamarine airport in Melbourne is pretty big. So I just tried to book a random flight which it was to Adelaide, I thought that was fine and the border will close at mid night the flight was at 20:55 pm so supposed to be good. I landed in Adelaide at 21: 45 pm, and there the police started the control. I did the pass but was declined because I wasn’t an essential traveller. I tried to talk with them but they said that I couldn’t be in Adelaide at the moment but the airport was closing so they deport me at the Hotel quarantine in Stamford Plaza Adelaide which I spent the night there.

I did it. All this happened after lunch and I was very tired and over stressed but I packed my thing and I called the reception to book me a taxi to go to the airport. So the taxi come I was escorted by the police till the airport and also inside the police woman waited the flight with me and there was also an other woman. The flight was at 16:50 pm. I was very nervous because I wasn’t sure that I’m Brisbane they will allow me to enter. Probably it was one of my worse flight, over stress. Once I landed in Brisbane around 7:10 pm I was almost shaking I went to claim the luggage I took my big back and then I saw few police man. I had to lie. I was very tired actually just because I don’t used to woke up that early so I slept all the two hours on the bus. Then at 9 am I bore on the boat to the Island and once I get there I tried to find a solution to rent a car because I haven’t done it before, at the ferry terminal there Budget Car Rental so I rent the car from them a Kia Cerato which is a good car but probably not the ideal one because for the island probably is better a 4×4 one I get the car I went to the IGA at Penneshaw which is over priced but I bought something to eat for lunch, then I start the tour of the island. The first stop that I did was in Pennington Bay which was amazing blue ocean loved it and then I head to Seal Bay which you need to buy a ticket but is totally worth it because you see all the Sea Lions on the beach sleeping a wonderful scenario. Then I went to Vivonne bay but was literally impossible stay on the beach actually because was over windy so I left after few minutes I couldn’t even had a lunch there. Then I proceeded to the Flindes Chase National Park which it was very beautiful but unfortunately was also the pet of the island that was debated by the bushfire last year so the nature wasn’t the best. I went first at the Admirals Arch which is totally incredible and then I went to the Remarkable Rocks which isn’t something that wonderful but yes I liked it. The I had and issued because the cable of the phone wasn’t an USB so I couldn’t charge the phone and I didn’t know where to go to sleep so I decided to head north quickly before the sunset. From Chateau Yaldara we drive through the picturesque vineyards of the Barossa Valley, and crossing Jacob’s Creek. The tour then arrives at the historic township of Tanunda where there’s time to wander up the high street and explore the quaint little shops or enjoy a coffee. As one of the best getaways in Adelaide, our next stop is the renowned Peter Lehmann winery. Then our group will enjoy an exclusive structured wine tasting hosted in the beautiful Eight Songs room within their cellar door. Here you’ll be given the opportunity to sample some of the Barossa’s internationally acclaimed vintages. Peter Lehmann’s is also our venue for lunch, where you will be treated to an exquisite Weighbridge platter of cheeses, olives, the region’s finest meats, and assorted vegetables accompanied by freshly baked bread. But it was basically impossible because all the car were booked and the price increased a lot so I didn’t know what to do anymore my plan changed again because I really wanted to see the twelves Apostles but it seems impossible. The only chance is book a bus to go back to Melbourne and next week do a day tour to the twelve Apostles. So I couldn’t figured it out anything and I come back to sleep a little bit. Then I went out for a lunch at the Luigi Delicatessen it was a really lovely lunch which I totally needed after all this organisation that looks impossible. After I come back in the Hostel to sleep a little bit and then before the sunset I went to the Fringe to eat a Fish and Chip by myself and see what this festival was about because everyone was talking about it and yes it was pretty nice good vibes but could be better if I was with friends after I come back to the Hostel to sleep.

The second stop was at the Down the rabbit hole Wines, such a lovely atmosphere I totally loved it and enjoyed I could stayed there all day but I had to keep driving till Victor Harbour that was also a place that I really wanted to visit, and from there I took a walk till Granite Island to relax a bit and than I drove to Meningie and from there I drove to Coorong National Park which it was pretty nice during the sunset but was very in the middle of nowhere without any Cravan Park to sleep during the night but well I keep driving during the night but after one hour I realise that maybe I couldn’t do it till the next gasoline spot so I got very afraid an I was in the middle of nowhere alone so I decided to come back in Meningie which I was sure that there was a gasoline station and I had enough gasoline to come back there even if I still didn’t know where to sleep. So I drove for one hour or more back to Meningie I couldn’t find Caravan Park open because it was too late obviously so I decided to sleep in a random Car Park next to the sea where there were two other Camper.
