During the road trip in Australia me and Carmel we decided to travel in Africa, so we started to look for few tours until we find this one which it was the best one price wise and places to see.

During this tour we will visit eight countries sushi as: Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa. But Nairobi wasn’t included so we landed there from India four days earlier to visit the city and then we started the tour on the 24th of November. 

DAY 1 – Wednesday 20.11.24

We woke up at 8:30 am had breakfast at the hotel, packed everything and then by 10:30 am we order and uber to go to the airport to catch the flight at 1:40 pm with Airindia to Jomo Kenyatta in Kenya.  The flight was okay just that we couldn’t make the screen work to watch a movie so we had to use our phone and we watched The fall guy and then Veni vidi vici which they were two random movies just to kill a bit of time and luckily we had few meals as well. Finally we landed in Nairobi at 6:35 pm we had the longest declaration check to wait so after nearly two hours of waiting we finally got outa ns ordered an uber to the hotel where we checked in and we went to sleep almost immediately.

DAY 2 – Thursday 21.11.24

Walking tour around Nairobi with Guruwalk 

Woke up at 8 am had breakfast in the hotel and then we got ready to walk out in the street to meet out your guide for the free walking tour book it on Guruwalk at 10 am, he’s name was William a very lovely guy that show us around the city first passing by August 7th memorial park, KICC rooftop, Kenyatta Monument, Cathedral Basilica, Memorial library. 

And then when we finished the tour he comes with us for lunch and show us the menu and recommend us the free range chicken which it was delicious and after we head back to our hotel by 2pm where we just chilled, went out for a quick supermarket shopping and then back to the hotel to organize stuff and chill till we went to sleep early for the big following day.

DAY 3 – Friday 22.11.24

Woke up at 5 am got ready skipping the breakfast and at 5:30am George the tour guide comes to pick us up. We were a small group just seven people and by 6:30 am we were already inside the Nairobi National Park ready to do the game drive all around for four hours. It was amazing we saw lionesses, rhino and buffalo. After around 11 am we went to the Elephant Orphanage, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where we could learn about the baby elephant. Then we went for lunch at Love Birds Community Gift Shop and kept going with the day tour to visit the Giraffe Center and feed them. And then we visited Kobe Tough beads & leather art factory and after that the tour finished and we drove back to Nairobi got there late noon so we just went to the hotel to chill and went to sleep. 

DAY 4 – Saturday 23.11.24

Woke up at 8 am had breakfast in the hotel and then we order an uber to go to the meeting point of the Kibera slum where we booked a walking tour with Guru walk. My friend Ilaria did the same tour few months earlier and she totally recommend. Elaja was an amazing guy that show us around the slum and teach us about his foundation and what there do there. During this tour we met an Italian couple that we went for lunch with them in the center. After lunch me and Carmel we went to visit the Nairobi National Museum which actually we didn’t go inside because we had to pay and the queue was too slow so we just got an other uber and we went to  Decathlon to buy the sleeping bag and stuff for the tend for the tour starting the following day. After that we just got an Uber back to the hotel where did prepare all the luggage and got ready for the following day. 

Today is the day that we joint the Nomad group tour for the next 42 days around Africa. 

DAY 1 – Sunday 24.11.24

Woke up at 6 am pack everything after all night without sleeping due to the noises in the hotel. Anyway we booked an uber to Hotel Boulevard Nairobi where it was the meeting point to start the tour at 7 am. We sign few paper and then we jumped straight on the bus to start the tour. The tour guide he’s name is Gift and the other people from the tour are from Australia, NZ, Philippines, England, America and Canada in total twelve. So we started to drive to the border to Tanzania which it was few hours drive down south from Nairobi. Once we got at the border luckily we already have the visa so we just had to print it out and do the normal finger print routine and then we bought few food at the market just to finish the Kenyan shilling and cash out Tanzania shelling. And at 3 pm we arrived at the accommodation where we set up the tend and then we chilled a bit playing games and having a beer till dinner time which it was at 7 pm and then we went to sleep. 

DAY 2 – Monday 25.11.24

Woke up at 5:15 am pack the tend had breakfast and then we left at 6:30 am drove towards Serengeti National Park for like three hours on the truck and then swap with the jeep and we proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we started the game drive for few hours and it was amazing we saw a lionesses trying to catch an wildebeest and a lot of others animals until evening where at 6 pm we arrive at our camp in the Seronera region located in the heart of the Serengeti. The camp is surrounded by spectacular views and abundant wildlife and this evening,m, we will enjoy the sights and sounds of nature passing right in front of your meru style tent. So once we got there I was very tired so I skipped dinner and I went straight to sleep to catch up on the sleeps that I didn’t have the previous days. 

DAY 3 – Tuesday 26.11.24

Woke up at 6 am get out of the tens and in front of it spotted few giraffes with babies it was absolutely insane, took amazing pictures of them and then we went for breakfast. Left the camp at 7:30 am where we started a full day’s game drive through Serengeti National Park where in the morning we saw the leopard, lions, buffalo. Famous for the abundant wildlife that exists in the park, we will spend most of our day in search of the animals that reside here. Had a little lunch break in the wild and then kept wandering around with the jeep, saw the rhino with a baby and a group of elephants which it was totally amazing. After 10 hours of an amazing day, seeing all the big five we went back to the tend ready where we took a quick shower and then we had dinner all together and then we went to sleep. 

DAY 4 – Wednesday 27.11.24

Woke up at 6 am pack everything, went to see the sunrise which it was amazing and then we literally saw an elephant in the camp near a tend which it was amazing, me and Carmel we got very close to him till he noticed us and scream so all the tour guide come towords us yelling at us to stay away because actually the Serengeti elephant are the most dangerous one. Then we had a quick breakfast took more pics with the elephant in the background and then we left to exit the Serengeti National Park. On the way out we saw two cheeta amazing that they were posing and a group of lions sleep it was very amazing. Then we entered in Ngorongoro National Park to go to visit the Ngorongoro Crater which it was unexpectedly beautiful, totally liked it had a pic nic lunch in the middle of nowhere and then we kept going around seeing lions and rhinos. In the noon we exited the NP heading back where we left the truck at the Kudu Lodge so we immediately jumped in the pool to chill a bit and have a beer there, then we had dinner all together in dark in the garden of the resort where we have the tend. 

DAY 5 – Thursday 28.11.24

Woke up at 6:30 am pack the tend had breakfast and we left the camp around 8 am to visit the local markets near Karatu called  Mto wa Mbu Market and then we went to visit for an hour a local Masai village to learn more about the local culture and by 11 am we made our way back to Arusha. Around 1 pm we stopped at Tanga Segera pub to have lunch under a tree picnic style and visit the snake museum which we didn’t so we just rest a bit and then back on the truck till 3:30pm where we reach the campsite and we organized all the luggage and the photos for the following days in Zanzibar and then we had dinner all together and went to sleep very early due to the early morning the day after. 

DAY 6 – Friday 29.11.24

Woke up at 4:15 am packed the tend, grab breakfast quickly and then by 5 am we left the camp making our way to the south of Tanzania. The first stop of the day was on the way while we could spot the Mountain Kilimanjaro and the we kept going till the lunch spot where we just stop in a gasoline stop and set up the lunch in there like a pic-nic and then we kept driving till 6 pm where we got in Bagamoyo and we set up the tend, went for a walk in the beach and then had dinner all together and sleep. 

DAY 7 – Saturday 30.11.24

Woke up at 6 am, after spending a terrible night in the hot of the tend due to the warm weather, pack the tend and at 7:30 am left on the truck to do to Dar El Salam where at 10 am we chilled a bit by the hotel where we ll stay on the way back and then we head to the Zanzibar Port where we embarked on the ferry at 12:30 pm to go to Zanzibar. We got there after two hours and from Stone Town we had a mini bus organized to take us to the opposite side of the island and at 4 pm we check in at the hotel and we got the swim suite on and we did a little wonder around but it got cloudy immediately so we just took a shower and went for dinner at the buffet all together, decided which extra activities do the day after and then straight to sleep due to the no sleep of the previous night.

DAY 8 – Sunday 01.11.24

Extra activities: Morning snorkeling tour and Mnemba Island. In the evening the sunset cruise around Zanzibar. 

Woke up at 6 am and we packed everything, went for breakfast and then at 7:30 am meet the tour guide at the reception that took us up north with the car till Muyuni Beach where we took the boat unfortunately the weather was terrible very cloudy and was even raining a bit in the morning. First we saw the dolphins and you could swim with them, then we stoped at the Sandbank where we took few pictures and eat some fresh fruit and then one more snorkeling spot and then back to the beach and from there the car back to the hotel at 1 pm. We change quickly and then we went for lunch at the buffet Asian area of the resort and at 2:30 pm back to the reception to meet the guide to drive us up to Kendwa where we took a really nice local big boat where we sailed for two hours e during sunset. It was very chill and relaxing. After we took the car again back to hotel. Had dinner again at the Asian restaurant which we liked and then we went straight to sleep very tired from the day. 

DAY 9 – Monday 02.12.24

Woke up at 6am packed everything had lunch and the we left the resort at 7:30 am heading to the Tangawizi Spice Farm where we learn about the spices in the island and tried few tropical delicious fruit. Then we proceeded with the mini van to Stone Town where we left out belongings at the hotel and then we had lunch at our own expense at Maru Maru Hotel on the rooftop which it was very nice. Then we did a walking tour around the town learning about the dove history of the island and visiting the Cathedral, spice market and fish market. After we went back to the hotel to so the check in and we chill a bit by the pool and then we went with a Canadian / American couple to have drinks and watch the sunset at the Park Hyatt Zanzibar and then at 7 pm we went for dinner with the rest of the group at the Cape Town Fish Market Zanzibar which it was a very nice restaurant by the water, and then we went back to the hotel to sleep. 

DAY 10 – Tuesday 03.12.24

We woke up at 8:30 am and the weather seems good so me and Carmel we went to the beach to try to take same picture but unfortunately was cloudy so we went back to the hotel had breakfast and then by 10:30 am we left, stopped at Buni Cafe for a take away lunch and then we jumped in a little van to the port where we catch the ferry at 12:30 pm and then in two hours we where already by the hotel do to the check in and leave there the bags and then we went to St. Joseph Cathedral where we did a free walking tour with Guruwalk and also an other couple join us while the rest of the group stayed at the hotel. It was very interesting and we visited obviously St. Joseph Cathedral, Botanical Garden, Askari Monument, psssf twin towers, fish market. Then we went back to the hotel had a quick shower eat something at the restaurant of the hotel in the evening and then went to sleep. 

DAY 11 – Wednesday 04.12.24

Woke up at 6 am with a beautiful sunrise and then went for breakfast and then got on the truck at 7:30 am, heading towards Mikumi National Park. We stoped at Msolwa Filling Station for lunch around mid day and then we kept going till Camp Bastian Mikumi that we got there around 4 pm while was raining so we just quickly set up the tend and we went to the bar to play same games and then by 7 pm we had dinner all together and we went to sleep. 

DAY 12 – Thursday 05.12.24

Woke up at 8 am had breakfast in peace by 8:30 am because me and Carmel we decided to not do the Jeep Game Safari in Mikumi National Park because was optional and we didn’t feel spend extra money when the weather wasn’t the best and potentially raining. So we stayed at the bar, I transferred pictures and update instagram.  Then we stayed by the pool had lunch all together and then back to the pool all afternoon chilling and then I called my mum in the evening before dinner. 

DAY 13 – Friday 06.12.24

Woke up around 6 am and then by 7:30 am we left the camp to keep driving towards the border to Malawi. But first we stoped at the Baobab Valley, a mesmerizing landscape dotted with ancient, towering baobab trees that

have stood the test of time. These iconic trees create a surreal and breath-taking scene, casting dramatic shadows against the African savannah. Then we kept driving up to the mountains but unfortunately we found a truck accident so we too way longer to reach the accommodation for the evening but we still managed to get there before dark but was still raining. Once we got there we set up the tends and we went to the living room to chill and gathering all together before having dinner at the restaurant of the accommodation which it was very nice, and then we went to sleep. 

DAY 14 – Saturday 07.12.24

Woke up at 5 am pack the tend had a quick breakfast and by 6 am we were on the bus ready to drive. We did few stop on the way and the we stopped for lunch before Mbeya and then around 4 pm we reach the accommodation and we did the coffee plantation tour at the accommodation which it was quite interesting even if I have done many coffee tours before. Then by 7:30 pm we had dinner in the other chalet not the one that we were sleeping. 

DAY 15 – Sunday 08.12.24

Visited the Witch Doctor as an extra activity today in Chitimba village. 

Woke up at 5 am grab everything from the chalet have a quick breakfast and left at 6 am. Going back in Mbeya leaving Tanzania behind, we descend the Great Rift Valley and cross the border into Malawi. Known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” the lakeside country is blessed with natural beauty and our destination of tonight is the shores of Lake Malawi where we look forward to spending the night enjoying the attractions of the northern regions of the lake. We reach the accommodation by 3 pm we set the tend up and then we did the tour visiting in the village the Witch doctor, which it was quite nice, we went there with two guides and there were many kids from the village around and then the doctor did his dance and predicted the future. After we went back to the camp and we had dinner all together near the truck and we went to sleep.
