In South Africa precisely in Cape Town we finished out 42 days of travel in Africa with Nomad: https://www.detourafrica.com/tour/42-day-nairobi-to-cape-town-camping/ and we decided to stay in the city for four days to explore it as a last holidays before flying back to Europe.
DAY 1 – Saturday 04.01.24

Woke up 5:45 am had breakfast and pack the lunch, pack the tend for the last morning and then left at 7 am the camp, heading to Cape Town. The Cederberg region not only boasts spectacular mountains and orange farms, but it is also the home of the Rooibos bush. The Cederberg region is known for its mountain fynbos and spectacular views of the rugged Cedarberg Mountains. Nearing Cape Town, you will notice Table Mountain appear in the distance and we will stop to look at Table Mountain from across Table Bay where we stopped to take few pictures and then we proceed to the city where we reached the Hilton Double Tree where we picked all our stuff say goodbye to everyone and we went to the reception just to organize everything and order and uber to go to the hotel at Sea Point where we couldn’t check in so we left the luggage and we went out to explore the area, getting a smoothie and went to the ocean to take few pictures. Then by 2:30 pm we did the check in, relax a bit and then we went to do the lashes at The Glam Hair & Beauty Bar by 4 pm, it was very quick so we could also watch the sunset at Sea Point which it was very nice and then we went to sleep early.
DAY 2 – Sunday 05.01.24

( Muizenberg Beach, Cape Town )
We woke up at 6:30 am and the tour that we booked online they come to pick up at 7:40 am at the hotel. We were in a group tour in a mini Va and first we went to Bo kaap for a little walk and literally two pictures, then Muizenberg beach for 15 minutes only unfortunately then we stopped at Simon’s town look out over the town. After we keep driving till Cape of good hope where we took few pictures then Cape Point / light house where we took a little bus to go up and visit the lighthouse then we had one hour break for lunch at Two Ocean restaurant. After lunch we visit Boulders penguin colony and Boulders beach then we drove passing by the Chapman’s peak drive which it was very wonderful, and we went back to the hotel change clothes and we took an uber to Clifton 3rd beach then hotel to watch the sunset even if it was a bit cold and then by 8 pm we went back to the hotel to eat something in the room and sleep.
DAY 3 – Monday 06.01.24

( Bo Kala, Cape Town )
We woke up at 7 am got ready and then we too a taxi to Maiden’s Cove to visit Tidal Pool which it was very nice we totally liked it. Then we took an uber again to go to visit Kirstenbosh Botanical garden where we had breakfast and is one of the 7 most beautiful botanical gardens in the world, and it fact was very beautiful but unfortunately we didn’t have a lot of time because then at 12 pm we had the organized free walking tour in Bo Kaap, where we meet again from a couple of the tour Nick and Kajsa. The walking tour was good but not my favorite still we learn few things about that area of the city then we went for lunch at Pahari that had verms and other typical food to try. After lunch we went all four together to visit Table Mountain where we had the ticket to enter at 4 pm. We took the cable car and we went up, it was very beautiful the view but very cold, literally freezing and very windy. Then we decided to go for dinner all together in the area near us so we choose The Poke Co and then we had an ice cream at Moro Gelato, then we said goodbye and we went to sleep.
DAY 4 – Tuesday 07.01.24

( Robben Island, Cape Town )
Woke up 6 am took an uber to go to the V&A Waterfront where we stoped for breakfast at vida e caffe V&A Clock Tower and then we went to board for the tour at 9 am where we meet Nick and Kajsa again and we board to Robben Island. It was a very nice experience exploring the island and then we visited the prison with an ex prisoner tour guide. And then we went back to the Waterfront in Cape Town. After we had lunch all together at Quay Four Restaurant and then we walk a bit around bought few souvenirs and said goodbye to Nick and Kajsa. Then me and Carmel we took an uber back to the hotel but first we stopped at Moro Gelato than we packed everything and after we went out for dinner at Arnold Restaurant where we eat an African game platter with eland, kudu, ostrich, warthog and then we got a soup as well, after we took an uber back to the hotel to sleep.
DAY 5 – Wednesday 08.01.24

Woke up at 6:30 am packed everything and then at 8 am we got picked up to do the half day tour and we took the two luggages with us. First we stop in the highway for breakfast in a gasoline station then we did our first wine and cheese tasting at Fairview Wine and Cheese which it was very beautiful and then we stopped at Marianne Estate also this one was absolutely amazing and relaxing. As a last stop we stayed a bit in Stellenbosch to visit the city and we stopped at Moro Gelato for the last ice cream. Then with the tour we got dropped off at the airport a bit early at 1:30 pm so we had to wait a bit unfortunately but still it was very busy so we did huge queue to drop off the luggage’s, then we bought few souvenirs and then finally the flight departed at 19:10 pm to Doha with Qatar Airways. On board we watched Thelma and Invictus the movie about Nelson Mandela. The we arrived in Doha at 5:10 am and then we stayed a bit at the airport to wait for the connecting flight to Milan that departed at 9:00 am and landed in Milan at 13:25 pm we collect the luggage and the we took the first Terra vision bus available to go to Milan central station and once we got there we went to L’antico Vinaio to get the focaccia and then I said goodbye to Carmel and I took the train to Vercelli at 4:20 pm and once I got there my mum comes to pick me up.
