DAY 18 – Wednesday 11.12.24

Woke up at 3:45 am packed the tend have a quick breakfast and then trying to take few pictures during the last sunrise at Lake Malawi and we left the camp at 5 am. Setting off for Zambia and the South Luangwa National Park. Stopping on the road for lunch while we had some local spectators and we bought some fresh local mangoes then we head to the boarder. After crossing the border into Zambia we make a short stop in Chipata at the supermarket before continuing to our camp on the banks of the Luangwa River. Having watched the sunrise over Lake Malawi in the morning we enjoy an equally spectacular sunset over the Luangwa River this evening. Then we set up all the tends and we had dinner all together celebrating K bday over dinner and then we went to sleep. 

DAY 19 – Thursday 12.12.24

Woke up at 5:20 am got ready and we started the morning game drive at the South Luangwa National Park is a world-class safari destination and we have a full day to explore the park in search of the variety of wildlife found in the park.  Which it was a really nice park, we stopped for a coffee/ drink and some cookies and then we kept doing the game drive which it was a four hour one, then we went back to the camp and we had brunch all together and then I just went to the pool to chill in the noon, then I did ten color to Carmel’s hair and then by 4 pm we got ready for the next game drive during the sunset in the park, enjoying a sundowner on the way. The aunique opportunity to explore the park at night gives us a chance to spot the elusive nocturnal species that are rarely seen in the day. Besides the rain it was an amazing experience doing a game drive during the night. Then we went back to the camp had a quick dinner and then we went to sleep. 

DAY 20 – Friday 13.12.24

Woke up at 6 am pack the tend and all the belongings. Leaving the Luangwa Valley this morning, we make a stop at Tribal Textile Africa to view their local jewellery and curios, these accessories are hand crafted by local ladies from South Luangwa using organic materials originating from the African bush. The Chipata area is a major producer of cotton and we get a taste of the creativity of the African culture. After we stopped for lunch by the road and cooked by ourself and then we did few random stop in gas stations and toilet break. Our destination tonight is the small town of Petauke where we reach it around 5 pm, we did the tend and then we hang out a bit all together by the reception organizing thing for the next year and then we had dinner all together by the fire and we went to sleep.

DAY 21 – Saturday 14.12.24

Woke up at 4:45 am packed everything had a quick breakfast and we left at 6 am proceeded to Lusaka the capital of Zambia. As an important link between Lusaka and neighbouring Malawi, the Great East Road winds through rural Zambia and we will cross the Luangwa River

on our way to Lusaka. After a quick stop at the markets we stopped for lunch an other day by the road and cooking by ourselves and give the leftovers to the local people. Then after lunch we stopped in Lusaka in a grocery store. Then we reach our accommodation in Lusaka and this camp was popular to have animals around so we went for a walk where we found zebras, baboons, giraffes and gazelles and took pictures with them it was amazing, after Carmel played pool a bit and I called my mum and then we had the last dinner all together and did a little brief about what happened in the past three weeks in the tour. 

DAY 22 – Sunday 15.12.24

Woke up at 4 am packed the tend and get on the truck by 5 pm. Today crossing the Southern reaches of Zambia we make our way to the adventure town of Livingstone located right on Victoria Falls. Where we reach the accommodation around 1 pm, we did the check in and said goodbye to the two Philippines brothers that they finished the tour and the driver Kapser and Gift the tour guide. Then we hang a bit by the pool but mostly we just enjoyed the bedroom with the air conditioning and chilled all noon and evening. We wanted to see the sunset but unfortunately as most of the evenings is raining. 

DAY 23 – Monday 16.12.24

Woke up at 6:30 am at breakfast at the accommodation by the Zambezi river which it was very peaceful besides the monkey stealing the food. Then at 8 am we got picked up at the hotel to visit the falls in the Zambia side which it was absolutely amazing we were just me Carmel and our tour guide. Absolutely an amazing experience comparing to the other falls that I visited in the world. After with the driver we crossed the border to enter in Zimbabwe and fortunately we could pay by card and one we stamp the passport we meet our next driver and tour guide where he got our luggage and we walked with the guide to enter in the Zimbabwe side of the falls which it was a bit more crowded and unfortunately the weather was getting a bit more cloudy but still it was an amazing experience. Then the driver took us to the hotel where we checked in and we went for lunch with Rhino at the Three Monkeys which it was very good and then we chill and hang a bit at the hotel with the other and then we got ready for the sunset cruise where they pick us up in the hotel and went to the river to join the tour which it was fancier then expected with snakes and complementary drinks. It was an unique experience while we could enjoy and at the same time seeing crocodiles, hippos and buffalos. The only inconvenience was the weather that was a bit cloudy and rainy but overall was an amazing experience. Then we went back to the hotel had few drinks at the bar and then we went to sleep. 

DAY 24 – Tuesday 17.12.24

Woke up at 6:30 am went for breakfast at the hotel and then we chilled by the pool till 10:30 am where we packed everything did the check out and then we jumped on the truck heading to the border to get into Botswana. Which it was very smooth and then we did a little stop in a supermarket and then we went to the camp where we set up the tends had a quick lunch and  by 3 pm we join the cruise in Chobe River which it was very nice and we could see many African animals during the boat ride but again unfortunately same as the night before the weather wasn’t the best, very Cousy and raining. The cruise was for roughly three hours and then we went back to the camp chatted a bit with the new tour guide Costa getting to know him and then we had dinner all together and then we went to sleep.
