After Dominican Republic we flew to Colombia, precisely Bogota the capital city. We weren’t very sure about the program but at the beginning we thought about doing only Bogota but then we discovered that we couldn’t do Ecuador due to some safety reasons so we could stayed a bit longer in Colombia deciding to visiting Medellin as well.
DAY 1 – Tuesday 16.01.21

From Punta Cana we took the bus to the Las Amaricanas airport in Santo Domingo at 2:00 pm to get the flight at 9:55 pm with Wingo to Bogota, where we landed around mid night. From there we booked the shuttle thru the hotel to get there, doing the check in and going to sleep.
The morning after we woke up around 8 am did the breakfast in the hotel and then get an Uber to the Journalists Park where the free Graffiti tour started at 10 am. It was a short and interesting to as an introduction to the city and the Graffiti neighborhood. We finished the tour at the bar Cafe Herencia while we tried some Coca leaf tea.
After we decided to explore La Candelaria neighborhood by ourselves since we were feeling safe. Stopping for lunch in a traditional Colombian restaurant called Puerta Falsa.
Then we walked to Plaza Bolivar, famous square, visiting the Catedral Primada del Colombia, passing by the capitolio National.
Then walk to Santuario nuestra senora del Carmen, gotich church dedicated to Virgin Mary which unfortunately we couldn’t get in because it was already closed. Later on and last stop we did the Museo dell’oro. Grabbing some empanada for dinner at Journalists Park where we started the day and from there get an Uber back to the hotel.
DAY 2 – Wednesday 17.01.24

Wake up at 8:00 am, had breakfast in the hotel and then get an Uber to the Monserrate Funicular to take the cable up to the Sanctuary.
We got up there around 10:30 am, we wonder around and enjoyed the amazing view on the city. Later on we went down with the funicular and we walked to La Candelaria while we grabbed some local food for lunch. At 1:30 pm we had the meeting in La Candelaria to start the bike tour around the city for like four hours and we went basically everywhere. Starting from the Bolivian square, fruit market, stopping in front of the Arena, passing by an old neighborhood, then having a typical coffee and going back to La Candelaria. Before going back to the hotel we stopped in a random shop where we get some empanadas for dinner.
DAY 3 – Thursday 18.01.24

( Salt Cathedral, Bogota )
Woke up at 7 am did the breakfast quickly in the hotel and then grab an Uber to go up north to meet the Italian couple to get the ride together to the Salt Cathedral. It took like an hour and half to get there, once we arrived we get a guide in the cathedral which explained everything about it and then leave us free time at the end to take some pics so in total we stayed there like three hours. Once we finished and we get out we stooped just out of the Cathedral to have a quick lunch and then we met the driver that took us back to La Candelaria precisely to the Botero museum where we said goodbye to the couple and we went to the museum. After the museum we took an Uber to the train station to figured it out how to get to Medellin and we decided to buy the ticket that was leaving at 23:00pm from the Bogota Terminal Salitre. Then we went back to the hotel took a shower, had dinner near the Hotel in Tesaquillo and then get and Uber to the Terminal and get on the bus for the night.
DAY 4 – Friday 19.01.24

We arrived in Medellin around 9 am totally tired from the night on the bus so we immediately took an Uber to go to the hotel. We couldn’t do the check in because it was too early so we charged the phone and we looked for a place to have breakfast, stopping at Viajero Hostel Medellin and after eating we went back to the hotel did the check in and we went to sleep for the rest of the day basically very tired. But after we decided to go out in the evening to we went to Calle 10 in El Poblado, grabbed something to eat at Crosantino and then went to have few drinks at Envy Rooftop which it was an amazing bar with and amazing view on the city of Medellin.
DAY 5 – Saturday 20.01.24

Woke up at 8 am got ready took an Uber to Mioboñuelo for breakfast and then took an Uber again to go to explore by ourselves the Comuna 13. We wonder around the neighborhood all morning till we stopped for lunch at Restaurante Bar Jardin 13. Later on we tried the local ice cream made with passion fruit and mango and than we took an other Uber to go to visit Museo El Castillo and then we went back to El Poblado to shower and chill and before going to sleep we went to eat something at Cafeteria Y Restaurante La 10.
DAY 6 – Sunday 21.01.24

( Piedra del Peñol, Colombia )
Woke up at 6 am get ready to do a day tour that we booked with Get Your Guide the day before. First we went to the Piedra del Peñol walking up the step and seeing the stunning view as the picture up. Then we visited the city of Guatapé later on we took a boat tour in the rivers swing the ruin of one of the house of Pablo Escobar.
Went back to the hotel at 5:30 pm get the backpack and then took an Uber to the International Airport Cordova in Medellin to get on the flight to Lima 8:34 pm with JetSMART and we ll landed at 11:30 pm.
