December 2023 during the trip to Philippines with Carmel we talked about doing a trip in January/ February if she wasn’t working due to renovations to her work place, but we just sayed that randomly and then at the end of the year 2023 while I was in Italy for Christmas vacation she messaged me that the renovations were on place so we could do the trip to South America. It was very random and unexpected for me, but I was very excited to do this trip that I always wanted and happy to do it with her.

So as soon as I went back home after the trip to the mountains with my mum I started to plan everything and organize aas much as I could and we decided to start asap. I didn’t even stayed home for the birthday of my mum I left earlier to meet Carmel in Dominican Republic and from there going down to South America visiting as much as we could.

DAY 1 – Sunday 07.01.24

Woke up early finished to pack everything and then around 11:00 am I left my house with my mum that took me to Malpensa airport to take the plane at 3:20 pm to Paris CDG that I landed at a bit later because the flight was delayed and get the shuttle to the Hotel to rest for the night.

DAY 2 – Monday 08.01.24

Woke up at 5 am went to the airport with the Hotel shuttle than trying to check but they told that my ESTA was expired. I panicked but luckily a woman helped me to do the ESTA again online and got me a new ticket for tomorrow on the same plane without paying extra. I was a bit disappointed but it was okay just cancelled the first night in Santo Domingo and went back to the Hotel in Rossy where I booked and external night. I slept a bit while outside it was snowing and then around lunch time I went to the closet supermarket to buy some food for the day and then went back to the hotel stayed in bed all day planning the trip to South America with Carmel.

DAY 3 – Tuesday 09.01.24

Woke up again at 5 am same as the day before took the shuttle to the airport and did the check in, waited for the flight that was at 9:30 am with American Airlines, it was pretty good I watched few movies in Spanish had meals and sleep then finally arrived in Miami at 2 pm. Did all the controls in Miami and meeting Perla to eat something quickly with her and then she left earlier than me. My flight supposed to be 6:04 pm but got delayed for like an hour finally landed in Santo Domingo Las Americanas around 11 pm where I got an Uber to the Hostel where I met Carmel that she was waiting for me since she got there in the noon a bit earlier then me.

DAY 4 – Wednesday 10.01.24

Woke up around 9 am I was very tired from the travel but also starving so we went for brunch at Affogato Cafe zona Colonial. Then we visited Santo Domingo, Catedral primada de America and walked around all the zona Colonial.

Later on when we went back to the Hostel we ordered McDonald and I immediately feel as sleep due to the jet leg and the tiredness of the flights.

DAY 5 – Thursday 11.01.24

We woke up at 8 am went for breakfast at Cafeteria El Conde de Penalba and then went back to the Hostel grabbed our stuff and ordered an Uber to the bus station go to Punta Cana. Got there at 12:30 left at 1 pm, it was a smooth travel but very long unfortunately we got in punta Cana 5:30 pm went to the hotel by walking did the check in and then went for a walk on the beach and dinner at El Cortecito then immediately to sleep.

DAY 6 – Friday 12.01.24

We woke up very early at 6:15 am to see the sunrise at 7 am on the beach which it was amazing. Then we went to the hotel where we did the breakfast, we book the tour for tomorrow at the Saona island. We tooked few pics on the beach and wonder around till we stopped for lunch at Onno’s. Then after at 4 pm went back to the hotel stayed in the balcony chilling and organizing the trip for the following days and going to sleep.

DAY 7 – Saturday 13.01.24

Woke up at 6:15 am, at 7 am the tour comes to pick u as at the hotel and we went to get the boat to go to Saona island with a tour organized by the hotel. Pick up at 7 am than got on a bus later on took a catamaran to Saona island got there around lunch time eat and wonder a bit around taking few pics and then went back to Punta Cana in the evening around 6 pm, very exhausted from the day.

DAY 8 – Sunday 14.01.24

Woke up early walked around the beach all day than stopped for lunch at Jellyfish then we did the check in the new hotel Green Coast Beach Hotel chilled a bit and then we went for dinner at Onno’s where we had few drinks as well and we tried the mamahuana shots.

DAY 9 – Monday 15.01.21

Woke up at 8 am breakfast on the beach then we stayed there to chill a bit till we packed everything and we went to take the bus at 2 pm to the Las Amaricanas airport in Santo Domingo to get the flight at 9:55 pm with Wingo to Bogota, where we landed around mid night.
