8 days in Jordan 2023

While I was in Australia at the beginning of the year 2023 I decided with my friend Ilaria that I wanted to visit Jordan and Israel, well Israel is kind of my dream for a long time but due to political reason I never been there, still today I didn’t choose to go. So we decided to do only Jordan, and then Istanbul to do the surgery just after the trip.

I wanted to do a tour, because I was working too much in Australia and I didn’t had the time to organise anything and than one of my other friend Giulia she did this tour and she suggested it https://www.weroad.co.uk/destinations/jordan-360/itinerary so we booked it as well.

DAY 1 – Saturday 13.05.23

I had dinner with my mum at home and than at 10:30 pm she took me to Ilaria’s house and her father took us to Bergamo airport at mid night. We slept in the airport at the arrival area and than at 06:05 am we took the flight with Ryanair to Amman where we landed at 10:30 am we passed by the control which we needed only the Jordan Pass that we already bought online before. Than we had the driver waiting for us and he took us at The Strand Hotel where we checked in immediately and we went out for lunch at Tawouk House Restaurant and than we went back to the hotel to rest and sleep a bit and later we took and Uber to Rainbow street and we had dinner at Mijana.

DAY 2 – Sunday 14.05.23

We woke up at 9:30 am after few hours of sleep and than we had breakfast before 10 am and than we went back to the room to chill and at 1 pm we met the other guys in the lobby and we went for lunch near the day before and than we did a little walk around, back to the hotel to take a jacket and than we started the tour of Amman, we went to the Citadel than we passed by the Roman Theatre and than the Souk. After we went for dinner at Shams el Balad.

DAY 3 – Monday 15.05.23

We woke up at 7 am, did ten breakfast and than at 8 am we get on the bus to start the adventure, the fist stop was at Wadi Mujib for canyoning, walking into the river for more than 500 meters. Than we went to the Holiday Inn by the Dead Sea where we stopped for lunch and than we went to the Dead Sea to float and mud of beauty. Later on we chilled by the pool and than we went to the hotel in Mudaba where we stayed at the Grand Hotel and we had dinner at 10 pm than we get a shisha and we celebrated Ilaria’s birthday by mid night.

DAY 4 – Tuesday 16.05.2

Woke up at 7:15 am did the breakfast and then left at 8:30 am in direction to Kerak Castle which it took a like 2 hrs. Kerak Castle is the second largest castle in the region and, is the most important crusader castle in the Middle East. It was considered virtually impregnable, the most strategic place of the country. Its European, Byzantine, and Arabic styles, make it one of a kind. After we stopped in a roadhouse for a buffet lunch and than we went to visit Little Petra also called Siq al-Barid is located a few miles from Petra, where you will find the structures similar to the architecture in Petra, but smaller. The atmosphere takes you back in time, thanks to the ancient divinities depicted in the stone. Later on we went to do the check in at the hotel I rest a little bit and then we went to a local family for dinner.

DAY 5 – Wednesday 17.05.23

Woke up at 7 am quick breakfast and then we get on the bus to Petra direction to get inside. This city will leave you breathless! A beautiful narrow gorge leads you to the famous Treasury, a carved stone structure, built to house the Areta III tomb. Continue your visit by entering the Street of Facades, where more than 40 tombs can be found carved into the rocks. After that, you are off to the top of the Jebel Madbah and then down to see temples, tombs, a palace and a Byzantine Church, famous for its floor mosaics. The ancient Theater boasts a capacity of around 3,000! In the old Roman part of the city, you can admire the Great Temple, dedicated to the Nabatean divinities, Qasr al-Bint ruins, the palace of Pharaoh’s daughter and the medieval castle ruins. Then we stopped for a quick lunch and then we keep going along the path that leads to the Monastery, you will see the biggest monument of the entire site: the Winged Lions Temple. It was a long day and a bit hard due to the hot weather but was amazing and by 5 pm we were already back in the hotel were we rested a vita nz than we had a burger for dinner before going to sleep.

DAY 6 – Thursday 18.05.23

Woke up at 7:30 am did the check out drive for like half an hour and than we stopped at Sahatain for local bread and pastries to make the bread and have breakfast there, than we keep going in the direction of the Wadi Rum desert.

Wadi Rum is an amazing desert surrounded by red coloured rocks and impressive mountains. From the Visitor Center, you are off to explore the desert of Lawrence of Arabia by Jeep. Khazali Canyon is one of the most unique places of the Wadi Rum rocky desert. It’s a canyon, also known as Siq, where the inner walls are covered with numerous Nabatean inscriptions and carvings. The extraordinary Um Fruth Bridge, a suspended rock bridge in the middle of the desert, is one of the most photographed spots in Jordan. After an intense day, it will be time for a typical Bedouin dinner, a chance to star watch in the evening (shooting stars are often spotted), and then you will be sleeping in a Bedoiun tent for the night.

DAY 7 – Friday 19.05.23

I woke up at 7:30 am took some pic on the cam in the desert and than breakfast after we jump on the jeep and we went back to the bus which it took us to the Aqaba Marina where we went on the boat for the tour day. It was amazing very relaxing and a beautiful boat, we did two stops for snorkeling and we saw a whale shark. The day tour on the boat finished at 5 pm we went back to the hotel and than we went for dinner at Suzana restaurant and later we went to a bar where we had few drinks and we dance till 4 am.

DAY 8 – 20.05.23

We woke up at 9:30 am did the breakfast went to the sea a bit to chill and relax and than we did the check out and we left at 12 pm. We spent the rest of the noon on the bus till 5 pm that we reach the hotel the same one as the beginning and then we went out for a Jordan cooking class. It was a nice experience and the food was better than other place after we stopped at the C Ling Rooftop and then sleep.
