I didn’t wanted come back home for Christmas since in January I really wanted to visit NZ so I thought that spending Christmas and New Years in a tropic island could be the best option so I decided to go to Fiji. I booked everything before like in October, but the accomodation was a bit hard because I didn’t know in which island to go and how long staying in the main land so I just decided to stay in the main land and do two night in an island and I choose basically the cheapest one that has shared tend and all inclusive package.

DAY 1 – 24.12.22

I’ve got my flight at 00:35 am supposed departing to Sydney from Darwin but the flight got delayed and I depart at 1:24 am and landing in Sydney at 8 am but I probably couldn’t make so they changed my second flight, because I had a connected flight from Darwin to Sydney. I landed in Sydney around 7:30 am in terminal two and from there I had to take the bus to go to the terminal 1 and once I got there I lay on the couches and I slept a bit because my flight to Nadi it ll be only at 11:45 am, had breakfast and than get into the plane, while I was on the place I watched “how to please a woman “ an Australian movie and than by 5:45 pm I arrived in Nadi. I had to wait for the shuttle and then when it comes it took me to the hostel which it was like a short ride and than once I got there I did the check in left my stuff in the room and I went to the bar next to the beach were I could watch the sunset and enjoying a drink while having the Christmas dinner with Ika Vakalolo cooked fish with veggie and than I had a banana fried dessert and I went to sleep because I was very tired.

DAY 3 – 25.12.22

I woke up pretty late like at 1 pm very tired from the travelling and all the months of working, I went to the supermarket than to the beach to take few pictures and after I just chilled in the bed booking some tour on Viator for the following days and than I organised with couples of girls in my room to watch the Christmas Fijian show at the restaurant which it started at 7 pm while we were having a dinner and I met all the group of people that were there which they already new each other it was pretty cool basically everyone travelling by themselves like a Danish girl, French, Portuguese, Mexican and two South African guys it was a very mixed group and the show was very nice totally enjoyed it. And before going to sleep I called my family in Italy that with 11 hrs of time zone they were preparing the Christmas lunch all together I was a bit nostalgic but at the same time couldn’t really feel the Christmas vibe so I was just enjoying the time without working.

DAY 4 – 26.12.22

I slept again till 1 pm still having the rithm of the night shift and than I went to the beach to take few pics and I met the guys that they were going to the pool and we had lunch all together and we spent the noon at the pool all together and than in the evening we went at the rooftop 47 at Ramanda to have a drink and than I went to sleep early because I was very tired.

DAY 5 – 27.12.22

Woke up at 7:15 am get ready to the pick up at the hostel at 8 am with a Portuguese girl French girl and two South African guys to go to port Denaru where all the ferry depart and we catch the one to Cloud 9 actually we booked the trip on Viator which was all organised just need to jump on the boat at 9 am and we went at Cloud 9 where we stayed till 3 pm enjoying the weather and we had 60$ vaucher for food and drinks so I had lunch there and than just chilling till we went back to port Denaru at 4 pm and from there we stayed at the hostel talking and chilling till I went to sleep.

DAY 6 – 28.12.22

Pick up 8 am with a taxi to port Denaru once I get there I had to do the check in at the place and mine while I found my Mexican roommate and we went to wait the departure together and we found also D. the other roommate to join the group day tour. The tour was a bit in late but totally worth it, like the fist stop was Mana sand island which was incredible and I did a bit of snorkeling as well. After we went to Monu Island but the weather wasn’t great so the boat stop in front of an other island and we did snorkeling there, only snorkeling. Than the third stop was at Monouriki Island with a Lovo Fijian lunch, we did a tour of the island and the guy show us how to open a coconuts and took few pictures around than at 4 pm we head back to the boat to go to Port Denaru. From there I took the taxi with the Mexican roommate back to the hostel and I went to sleep because I was very tired from the day.

DAY 7 – 29.12.22

Woke up at 6:30 am did the check out at the hostel and I went to wait for the big bus that come in front of the hostel to pick me up to go to port Denaru where I get the ticket to take the boat, the ride was quite long I got in Barefoot Kuata at mid day, but the arrival was amazing with a little boat and the woman singing on the beach, it was unreal, and the guy up on the rock dancing. Well than I did the check in left my things in the tend while I socialised with my roommate a British girl that speaks Italian and an Australian English teacher so we went for lunch all together there I met an Italian guy that was in my hostel in Nadi and we socialised all together and after lunch we saw a coconut demonstration at 3 pm and than we went to the beach all together it was very nice, I’ve been surrendered by people all day everyday since I’ve got in Fiji. Later on in the evening we hike the Summit mount to see the view of all the island and than we had dinner all together.

DAY 8 – 30.12.22

Woke up at 7:30 am, i couldn’t really sleep well it was storming and raining a lot but than I went to do the breakfast than in the morning I chilled the resort was offering snorkeling and scuba diving as activities but I didn’t really wanted to do it I preferred just chill and I took few pictures around but the weather unfortunately wasn’t good, than lunch all together and in the noon just chill and talking with the girls in my tend and than dinner and chatting a bit all together and than I went to sleep.

DAY 9 – 31.12.22

Woke up at 8 am it was my last day in the island so I did the breakfast and all morning just chill and organising things for the next day because it was just raining all the time, lunch all together and than the staff the perform a farewell show which it was really nice. Than the boat supposed to arrived at 4 pm but was really in late and arrived only at 7 pm so all that time I was trying to chill and being updated with the departure. The ride on the boat was quite fast and I was with my roommate and we took the bus together to go back to the hostel I stayed in the same one as before and she was in the other one. I check in got ready make up and everything and than I meet up with D. where we went to the other hostel we tried the kava and than back to our hostel I got a quick sandwich and than we went to see the fireworks on the beach for midnight and than we stayed there to dance till like 2 am in the morning and than we went to sleep.

DAY 10 – 01.01.23

Woke up at 7:30 am packed all my stuff and get ready to go at the airport due to the shuttle from the hostel was at 8 am, I was the only one and the shuttle was very on time. Once I got at the airport I dropped my backpack pack at the counter get my ticket and I passed all the controls and than had breakfast at Hungry Jacks while I was waiting for my flight at 11 am with Fiji Air to Auckland.
